Family re-use of graves is only available to direct descendants of the people already buried in the grave or those related to the burial right holder. To apply to re-use family graves, download and complete the applicable form. Completed forms should be signed and witnessed before a Justice of the Peace JP and returned by mail to the address on the form. Where a grave is considered to be full, a test dig may be required.
A test dig fee will apply. If the grave requiring a test dig has a concrete or stone top, the family will need to employ an authorised monumental stonemason to remove the top so the test dig can take place. In the first instance, complete and return the Family re-use form and Cemetery Administration will investigate and advise of any further steps required.
